Well, it's the end of another year, and you know what that means - the Twilight Zone marathon. I have been heartily enjoying it as usual. It remains some of the best writing certainly for an anthology series and among TV shows on the whole. My favorite of the ones I watched this morning has to be 'Third From the Sun.' I love the conclusion, but the episode's real strength is the way it juxtaposes the comforts of a warm summer night with the underlying dread of what's about to come. I don't think it gets as much credit as it deserves.
'Long Live Walter Jameson' just started. It's one of my all-time favorites. It combines mystery, fantasy, history, philosophy, and horror. It's really an impressively made episode all around. All of the pieces are in place right where they need to be, resulting in something like magic. Watching these is nourishing to me in some way. It feels like it's feeding my brain and soul.
